Reinhart Adds New Consumer Finance Team; Three New Attorneys

Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) announces the addition of its new Consumer Finance practice and three new attorneys – Daniel D. Daubert, W. Craig Olafsson and Kristi J. French. They will practice in Wausau, WI.

Navigating the regulatory waters of Consumer Finance can be challenging without the right legal team. From responding to state and federal regulators to complying with various laws like the Truth in Lending Act and monitoring legislative changes at the state and federal levels, Reinhart’s Consumer Finance Group has the experience clients need to move their businesses forward.

Finance and lending is a field of ever-changing state and federal laws and regulations that require strict compliance regarding all aspects of credit extension. Reinhart’s Consumer Finance Team has extensive experience assisting clients with drafting lending documents, adhering to consumer privacy requirements and dealing with customer identification and identity theft issues and procedures. In addition, we assist clients in registering their business entities and obtaining required state licenses or registrations.

Daubert is a shareholder in Reinhart’s Corporate Law Practice and a member of the Consumer Finance Team. He focuses his practice on assisting finance companies, businesses extending credit to customers, and loan servicing companies with licensing, compliance and general corporate matters. Daubert works with clients on related due diligence and with lenders making loans where the collateral will be finance contracts. In addition, he provides legal services to closely held businesses.

Olafsson is Of Counsel in Reinhart’s Corporate Law and Real Estate practices where he assists clients with a variety of business law and real estate matters. He advises general business entities and insurance company clients on the purchase and sale of businesses, formation and dissolution of business entities, contracts, financing, employment law and HIPAA. In addition, Olafsson handles the purchase, sale and lease of all types of real estate, as well as boundary disputes and condemnation matters. He also has extensive experience advising mutual and stock insurance companies on affiliations and de-affiliations, and also with demutualizations, reinsurance and regulatory matters.

French is an associate in Reinhart’s Corporate Law Practice and a member of the Consumer Finance Team. She focuses her practice on compliance matters in the consumer finance area, providing legal counsel to finance companies on a variety of compliance topics, including licensing and contract drafting. With a specific focus on finance companies, French has extensive working knowledge of the issues such companies face and works to assist her clients in the practical implementation of compliance measures. She regularly advises on topics of direct and indirect lending, closed- and open-end contracts, and licensing for finance companies with a nationwide footprint.
