  3. Matthew D. Barron

Matthew Barron is an attorney in Reinhart’s Employee Benefits Practice, where he represents clients in trials, arbitrations, mediations and informal negotiations, partnering with them to resolve disputes efficiently and effectively. Working together with trustees, fiduciaries and administrators of multiemployer fringe benefit funds, Matthew counsels on matters such as the collection of delinquent fringe benefit contributions, enforcement of auditing rights and withdrawal liability under ERISA and subrogation. He also works with plan clients on benefit appeals and defense against claims for breach of fiduciary duty.

Dedicated to securing the hourly wages in the form of Fringe Benefits that workers are entitled to under Collective Bargaining Agreements, he excels at understanding the unique challenges of the Trustees and Fiduciaries of Fringe Benefit Funds and uncovering creative solutions beyond the obvious. Clients appreciate his communication style and responsiveness. Driven by a desire to help others, Matthew finds immense satisfaction in achieving positive outcomes for them.

Matthew leverages his prior experience in the trades, particularly construction, to bring a unique perspective to ERISA litigation. His background in civil litigation further strengthens his ability to advocate persuasively.

Outside of the office, Matthew prioritizes quality time with his young, growing family. He looks forward to the opportunity to explore the outdoors with them, fostering a love for nature, hiking and camping. He is also a tabletop game hobbyist.
