Joshua H. Hernandez is an attorney in Reinhart’s Employee Benefits Practice, where he works closely with clients to understand their objectives and helps them make the most informed decisions possible. Josh works with Taft-Hartley multiemployer, corporate and government benefit plan sponsors on a variety of issues, including compliance and administration matters for qualified retirement plans and health and benefit plans. He has experience drafting plan documents, policies and procedures, and reviewing service provider contracts.
He is also a member of the firm’s Institutional Investor Services Practice, where he advises institutional clients, including U.S. and non-U.S. pension plans, in connection with investments in private equity funds, hedge funds and other alternative investment vehicles. Josh appreciates the unique aspects of each client’s situation and focuses on analyzing and negotiating legal and economic terms to creatively construct the best deals possible.
Josh strongly believes in service work and strives to be a resource for those within the Milwaukee community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association and Literacy Services of Wisconsin. He is also an active member of the Wisconsin Retirement Plan Professionals, Ltd. (WRPPL) and the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys (NAPPA).
Before moving to Milwaukee, Josh spent four years working in live entertainment, managing sales and premium services for the Frank Erwin Center and tickets for Texas Performing Arts. The adaptability, attention to detail and additional skills Josh developed during that time help him add value to and reach creative and effective outcomes for his clients.
Away from the office, Josh enjoys spending time with his family, attending live entertainment events and volunteering with the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics.
