Eric Hagemeier, a shareholder and co-chair of Reinhart’s Corporate Law Practice, uses his financial background and keen business sense to help clients make crucial strategic decisions. His extensive experience in business and transactional matters allows him to provide insightful counsel on various financial aspects of capital raising, mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions. He is also a member of the securities and private equity, venture capital and corporate finance teams. In addition to transactional work, he guides public companies on regulatory compliance and corporate governance, and private companies in compliance with various securities and corporate governance matters.

Before attending law school, Eric worked as a CPA in private industry. This experience gives him a deep understanding of the economic factors that drive sound business decisions. His approach involves out-of-the-box thinking and customized solutions that take business, financial and legal goals into consideration.

Eric sees his role as not only providing clients ideas and options, but also walking alongside them to take matters ‘across the finish line.’ He is a responsive, collaborative and creative legal partner who values client relationships and the give-and-take connections that bring value to both his practice and their businesses.

  • Worked with a team of Reinhart lawyers to acquire a number of companies for a major financial services client, including negotiating the terms of purchase
  • Helped privately held companies to raise startup and growth capital
  • Assisted the owner of a valued-added distributor of electrical wire and cable with the sale of his business to a publicly traded U.S. company
  • Worked with a publicly traded European company in its $115 million acquisition of a U.S. company
  • Strategized with corporate clients to find creative compensation options for their executives
  • Assisted a worldwide marketing solutions partner in numerous acquisitions and carve-out divestiture transactions aligned with its strategic plan
  • Assisted ESOP buyers and sellers in the structuring of management buyouts and sale transactions.
