ROCKFORD – Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. attorney Timothy P. Naill has earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Intellectual Property Law from The John Marshall Law School. Naill graduated with honors in January 2016.
Naill is a registered patent attorney in Reinhart's IP Practice, where he assists clients with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and handles their trademark matters.
Intellectual property law cases, particularly patent litigation, have escalated in recent years as competition for new products, processes and profits across every industry intensifies. As companies and individuals pioneer new ways to solve challenges and conduct business, Naill has been at the forefront of efforts to ensure his clients' breakthroughs are fairly attributed and documented.
The John Marshall Law School offers one of the oldest, most comprehensive, and highly regarded intellectual property law programs in the country. It is ranked in the top 20 in IP law by U.S. News & World Report. The school's LL.M. program offers patent and other IP law courses instructed by some of the nation's top IP academics, judges and practitioners.
Prior to his legal career, Naill served for 20 years as a U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer with deployments at sea as an Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and Gas Turbine Main Propulsion Officer, and on the ground as an Operations Officer in Kabul, Afghanistan.
In addition to his LL.M., Naill holds a J.D. from the Northern Illinois University College of Law, a B.S. from the University of Illinois and is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, Calif.
