  3. Reinhart Receives Highest Ranking in Private Wealth Law by Chambers and Partners

Milwaukee – Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized by Chambers and Partners in its 2023 High Net Worth Guide, giving Reinhart its highest ranking (Band 1) in Private Wealth Law. In addition, shareholders Jennifer R. D’Amato, John A. Herbers, Gregory F. Monday and Wendy S. Rusch have received individual accolades.

D’Amato is an experienced attorney with deep experience assisting ultra-high-net-worth clients navigate tax issues and other complexities of their closely held businesses and other assets. She is the chair of the firm’s Trusts and Estates Practice, chair of the Trust Services Group, co-chair of the Fiduciary Litigation Service Group, and was the first woman to serve on the firm's Board of Directors. D’Amato’s clients consist of closely held business owners, wealthy families and private and public charities. Her practice includes business succession planning, leveraged gift techniques, generation-skipping transfer tax issues, will, trust and tax controversy matters, fiduciary litigation and estate and trust administration. She enjoys providing peace of mind for her clients as they work together to preserve the legacy of a business. D’Amato’s approachable nature allows her to navigate inter-family and multiple-generational dynamics as she becomes the trusted adviser to the family.

Herbers has spent decades helping families navigate the relational and legal matters associated with estate planning. He understands that clients have concerns deeper than just who gets what; they also want to ensure their personal values are carried on to their children and grandchildren. As a shareholder and former chair of Reinhart’s Trust and Estates Practice, and a member of its Tax and Corporate Law practices, Herbers has worked with hundreds of families and family-owned businesses in Wisconsin and Florida to address the legal, financial, tax and emotional issues that come into play. His work includes retirement planning, marital and prenuptial agreements, probate and trust administration, fiduciary litigation and charitable giving. Herbers’ clients are owners and operators of family businesses, professionals and executives of large companies, and high-net-worth individuals.

Monday defines his practice by his clients—he's a family business lawyer. His extensive experience and knowledge of business law, contracts, tax law, estate planning and more help family business owners achieve their goals while preserving family harmony. Monday assists with issues at the intersection of family and business transitioning between generations, owning and running a business together, supporting retirement and ensuring the family legacy endures. His knowledge of family businesses, backed with the support of a full-service business law firm, makes him a valuable legal partner who helps clients work through sensitive issues and achieve their goals beyond financial success.

Rusch is a shareholder in Reinhart's Trusts and Estates Practice, whose clients include owners of family-controlled companies and high-net-worth individuals. Her practice focuses on estate planning, family business succession planning, retirement planning, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, as well as probate and trust administration. She also represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in estate and trust disputes and advises clients on a wide variety of estate, gift and income tax issues. One of the most fulfilling aspects of Rusch’s work is her involvement in succession planning and watching the successful transition of a family business from one generation to the next. She is a Fellow and Wisconsin State Chair of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) through the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils.
