  3. Reinhart Names Lawrence Burnett Pro Bono Attorney of the Year

MILWAUKEE – Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) is pleased to announce that Shareholder Lawrence Burnett has been named the firm’s 2023 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year.

Burnett was chosen as this year’s honoree due to his longtime commitment to pro bono work, serving individuals who cannot afford legal representation with empathy and respect for more than two decades through the Marquette Legal Aid Clinic and the firm’s pro bono program.

“We are proud to recognize Larry’s exemplary compassion for and commitment to making positive contributions to our community,” said Reinhart CEO Albert Orr. “For more than four decades at the firm, he has been an exemplary model of giving back through his mentorship, leadership and dedication to serving those who need his help the most.”

As a member of Reinhart’s Corporate Law and Consumer Finance practices, Burnett counsels business clients on a wide range of issues, especially mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. His breadth of experience enables him to offer unparalleled representation on corporate finance matters with a well-honed ability to identify and solve capital needs problems.

For many of his clients, Burnett functions as a member of their senior management team, fully invested in helping them realize their potential and capitalize on their opportunities. In addition to more traditional industrial and service companies, he has an extensive knowledge of financial products and technology companies.

Outside of Reinhart, Burnett has served as President of the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Trust Account Foundation (WisTAF), a nonprofit organization that works with civil legal aid organizations in the state to increase access to justice through the oversight of funds- and invests in services and projects to help people resolve legal problems. He is also the past President of the Coalition for Children, Youth & Families, as well as the past chair of the Wisconsin Jesuit Partnership Council. Burnett is a Wisconsin Law Foundation fellow.

Reinhart initiated its Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award program in 2009 to recognize the exceptional efforts of attorneys within the firm who demonstrate a long-standing and devoted commitment to pro bono work.
