MILWAUKEE — Francis W. ("Fran") Deisinger, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren's General Counsel and a shareholder in its Litigation Practice, has been sworn in as the 61st President of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Patience Roggensack administered the oath of office on Wednesday at the State Bar’s Annual Meeting & Conference in Green Bay. Deisinger assumes a one-year term on July 1, succeeding outgoing State Bar President Ralph Cagle of Madison.

As President, Deisinger is committed to serving Wisconsin attorneys and upholding the standards of the profession. "Our members serve a crucial role in the justice system, and the State Bar has a responsibility to provide Wisconsin attorneys resources, services and support to help them be successful, ethical professionals," said Deisinger.

Deisinger will continue his practice as a counselor, litigator and mediator while serving as State Bar President.

"Everyone at Reinhart commends Fran for his exceptional dedication to the members of the State Bar," said Reinhart CEO Jerry Janzer. "I know that the Bar will benefit greatly from his experience, leadership and vision for the profession."

All attorneys licensed to practice in Wisconsin—nearly 25,000 total—are members of the State Bar of Wisconsin. The State Bar assists Wisconsin attorneys to meet and maintain the highest standards of competency, technical skill and ethical conduct. It also strives to ensure that Wisconsin citizens have access to legal services, and to a justice system that affords prompt and fair resolution of disputes.
