Derek Campbell readily admits he followed in his father’s footprints – even going to law school as an older student.

“My father was a patent attorney when I was working in the computer industry. I was looking to take my career to the next step and knew patent law was definitely an option,” said Derek. While Derek went to law school in his early 30s, his father waited until his late 40s to make the career switch.“My father told me while I was in law school that he hoped I would enjoy being a patent attorney as much as he did,” he said. “My hope was that my 17-year head start would help with that.”
