As a shareholder in Reinhart’s Tax, Corporate Law and Litigation practices, Sara Rapkin is an experienced attorney dedicated to handling state and local tax controversies, primarily for national companies with a Wisconsin presence. She is a vigorous advocate for clients facing audits involving sales, use, income and franchise taxes, evaluating their position to challenge these assessments, and representing them before Wisconsin tax appeals commissions, circuit and appellate courts.

Sara also has a large practice assisting clients in property tax assessment disputes. She helps manage Wisconsin property tax liabilities, evaluates where challenges are appropriate, and represents clients before the related review boards and courts.

Sara focuses on developing strategic relationships with stakeholders in a wide variety of tax-related organizations, which is instrumental in her ability to successfully negotiate favorable resolutions for clients. Her big-picture perspective extends beyond solving and simplifying complex legal and tax problems; she’s exceptionally proactive in collaborating with clients to help achieve their larger business goals.

She is a frequent speaker to the Bar Association and other audiences on tax-related issues. Sara enjoys the variety and creativity that are part of solving complex tax issues, learning about her clients’ businesses, and seeing the tangible results of what they accomplish together.

Sara is very family oriented and spends her free time with her husband and children, cheering on their youth sports teams and other activities.
