  3. Robert J. Muten

Robert J. Muten is a shareholder in Reinhart’s Labor and Employment Practice, where he offers a wide range of employers strategic, proactive and practical day-to-day counsel.

Having practiced employment law for more than two decades, Robert understands the importance of effective pre-dispute management of employment-related matters in helping his clients avoid the entanglement of litigation. Where litigation simply cannot be avoided, Robert believes in litigating claims in an aggressive yet cost-effective manner.

In addition to his private practice experience, Robert spent 12 years as in-house labor and employment counsel for a global Fortune 500 company. From large multinational organizations to mom-and-pop operations, he speaks the same language as business owners, quickly understands their goals and helps get them to where they want to be. Dedicated to his clients’ success, Robert’s reputation as a trusted adviser has grown because of his proven track record of effective guidance.

Robert deals with a wide range of employment issues, including, but not limited to, hiring, firing and disciplinary matters; investigations of employee complaints and other workplace issues; compliance with employment discrimination laws; wage and hour compliance; accommodation obligations under state and federal disability laws; requests for leaves of absence; and reductions in force. He represents clients in employment discrimination, workplace harassment, whistleblower and breach of employment contract lawsuits before state and federal agencies and courts. In addition, he provides in-house training on compliance with federal and state employment laws and other labor and employment topics.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling and being outdoors.
