John L. Schliesmann is of counsel in Reinhart's Corporate Law, Tax and International practices. Business clients value him as a reliable, practical and highly accessible legal strategist and advisor with a record of providing creative and cost-effective solutions. His clients include foreign- and U.S.-based manufacturing and professional services companies seeking to do business in the U.S.

John works closely with his clients, helping them to plan proactively and develop financially sound approaches to key issues, including business succession, executive compensation, the financial complexities of mergers and acquisitions, and associated corporate and general tax matters. Clients appreciate John’s ability to quickly grasp the business and tax implications of a situation and anticipate issues in the context of the client’s overall goals.

A noted speaker and legal author, John addresses business audiences, including financial professionals on equity-based compensation and planning for acquisitions. He is a member of several entrepreneurial associations, including ACG, an international organization dedicated to fostering sound corporate growth and the Golden Angels Network, an organization established to provide early-stage companies access to capital and B-school resources. John also serves as the chair of the firm’s Compensation Committee.
