Emily Hagan is an attorney in Reinhart’s Corporate Law Practice, assisting consumer finance clients across a wide range of matters from obtaining state licensure to negotiating dealer agreements. As part of the Consumer Finance Team, she is dedicated to counseling clients with multistate operations, ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Emily is a meticulous and thoughtful communicator, skilled in making technical information clear and accessible to various stakeholders. She enjoys learning from her clients and colleagues, leveraging their expertise and finding creative ways to help clients fully achieve their goals.

Emily is intentional in ensuring that her clients’ larger business goals shape their legal strategies, and she thrives in helping companies navigate evolving laws and implement innovative new programs while being mindful of potential regulatory pitfalls.

She assists clients in establishing and protecting their security interests, including complying with the UCC and addressing the unique concerns of fixture and other real property interests. Emily has extensive experience providing counsel in all aspects of licensing processes and maintenance, including navigating the National Mortgage Licensing System, working effectively with regulators, and preparing for and responding to state exams. She is knowledgeable about the requirements and restrictions imposed by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act.

In law school, she participated in the Appellate Advocacy Program and volunteered as a legal intern at Prairie State Legal Services and Kids First Law Center. Away from the office, Emily relishes time with her family and her pets, and being outdoors.
