David A. Mikkola

David Mikkola is an associate in Reinhart’s Real Estate Practice, where he takes a thoughtful approach to help his clients navigate complex legal matters. He excels at building strong relationships with his clients and colleagues. Real Estate law fascinates David because of its tangible impact on the communities where people choose to live, work and build their businesses and lives.

Before joining Reinhart, David gained experience representing and advocating for clients in a variety of legal settings. As a law clerk in the Juneau District Attorney’s office in Alaska, he worked alongside prosecutors on criminal matters and served as second chair in two trials. He also served as a student attorney in the Michigan Innocence Clinic, advocating on behalf of incarcerated individuals who maintained innocence after conviction.

Having worked in both prosecution and post-conviction defense settings, David developed a deep appreciation for the importance of careful preparation and thoughtful advocacy at every stage of the legal process. His experience teaching undergraduate students in philosophy and comparative literature further enhances his ability to distill complex legal concepts into practical, client-focused guidance.

Outside of the office, David enjoys traveling the country and abroad, exploring national parks and spending time with his wife and family.
