Andrew Heinisch is an efficient, hands-on attorney who enjoys working closely with clients to find creative answers to complex problems. He is a shareholder in Reinhart’s Intellectual Property Practice and a registered patent attorney.

Andrew’s wide range of technological experiences and engineering background make him an especially effective adviser for clients with highly technical innovations. He works closely with a variety of U.S. and foreign corporate clients, from large, publicly traded companies to small, closely held businesses. Andrew understands his clients’ business needs and deals with every aspect of patent work, including application drafting and prosecution, intellectual property due diligence, validity and infringement opinions and licensing. Andrew also has performed and supervises a full range of trademark services, including clearance, prosecution and international enforcement.

Andrew’s legal experiences run deep, including regularly litigating patent, trademark/trade dress and copyright lawsuits, and in handling various adversarial post grant proceedings (Inter Partes reexaminations, Inter Partes reviews and Interference Proceedings) before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Andrew has also been involved with similar adversarial patent and trademark proceedings in many foreign countries. His practical approach to each project aligns his clients’ business goals and cost parameters to get results.

He is also a member of Reinhart’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Team and can advise clients on the technical and regulatory requirements, challenges and opportunities of AI technology.

Andrew is an experienced presenter and lecturer and previously appeared on Legally Speaking, an educational television program, discussing patent, trademark and copyright issues. He had periodically taught a continuing legal education clinic on intellectual property topics for business attorneys. He is also a veteran, having served with the Army National Guard for more than seven years.
