Abdullah Akhtar is an intellectual property (IP) attorney who assists clients in obtaining IP protection. He brings strong technical expertise to his practice through his electrical engineering degree. He possesses the ability to think like a patent examiner and to make compelling arguments.

Abdullah’s practice encompasses all aspects of IP law, with a particular emphasis on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. He has experience in a range of fields, including electrical, computer, telecommunications, electromechanical and business methods. Additionally, he has provided services to the electrical power industry.

His detail-oriented, collaborative approach helps inventors achieve their goals and reap the benefits of their ingenuity. Abdullah works closely with in-house counsel and inventors to examine existing prior art, identify novel and non-obvious features of the claimed invention, and combine the patentable elements in patent applications. He also helps identify potentially complex and conflicting patent applications and develops strategies to invalidate or avoid them.

Abdullah is a proud member of the nation’s oldest engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi, and has native fluency in both written and spoken Urdu. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching Netflix and gardening.
