  3. Robert Driscoll Shares Business Litigation Insights with State Bar of Wisconsin

Reinhart Shareholder Robert Driscoll presented during the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Trending Topics in Business Litigation seminar on Dec. 16. The annual seminar serves as an authoritative guide to today’s most pressing issues in business law and practice.

Driscoll led the discussion during the “Healthy Competition or Illegal Interference? How Contract and Tort Principles Impact Hiring a Competitor’s Employees” presentation, which covered employee raiding, at-will employment and the impact of crossing the line. He also co-led another presentation—"Commercial Litigation Trends in Wisconsin’s Appellate Courts”—with attorney Caleb Gerbitz of Meissner Tierney Fisher & Nichols S.C.

Driscoll participated in several panel discussions during the seminar:

  • “Wisconsin’s Economic Loss Doctrine: Where Did You Come From? Where Did You Go?”
  • “Decoding the DTPA: Uncertainty in Wis. Stat. § 100.18 Claims”
  • “No Contract, No Problem: Alternative Theories to a Traditional Breach of Contract Claim”
  • “Litigating Trade Secret Misappropriation Claims When No Direct Evidence of Misappropriation”

Driscoll is a shareholder in Reinhart's Labor and Employment Practice. He counsels employers to help them avoid disputes with an emphasis on discrimination (including disability discrimination), wage and hour issues and employment contracts of all kinds. His practice also includes all areas of traditional labor law, such as collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, and advising employers of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act.
