Milwaukee – Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) announces that two shareholders, Meghan E. Roed (Madison – Real Estate law) and Klaus U. Thiedmann (Chicago/Milwaukee – Corporate/International law), have joined the firm.

Meghan E. Roed is a shareholder in Reinhart’s Real Estate Practice where she focuses on affordable housing and general commercial real estate matters. She partners with her clients throughout the financing and development process, counseling them on their options, assessing and solving issues that arise in due diligence, and negotiating effectively with other parties to achieve her clients’ objectives.

Prior to joining Reinhart, Roed was the senior staff attorney for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) for almost six years, where she represented WHEDA in its housing and economic development lending and HUD programs. In this role, she closed more than more than $350 billion in loans for affordable housing and economic development projects throughout Wisconsin, supporting WHEDA’s mission to stimulate the state’s economy and improve the quality of life for Wisconsin residents.

Klaus U. Thiedmann is a shareholder in Reinhart’s Corporate Law and International practices where he concentrates on the representation of local and foreign clients with international requirements, with a special emphasis on the representation of European companies and their subsidiaries in the United States. Clients rely on Thiedmann to counsel them throughout the complex issues faced with foreign investment in the United States, U.S. investment abroad, international trade and related matters. In addition, he advises U.S. businesses entering and expanding in Europe, and represents European clients on boards of directors of U.S. companies. During the last 30 years, Thiedmann he has been involved in more than 100 mergers, acquisitions and divestitures representing foreign and domestic companies and/or their stockholders.

Thiedmann was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and speaks German, French and English. He earned law degrees in West Germany and from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, is admitted to both the German and Illinois State Bars and is authorized to practice law in several of the EU countries and before the authorities of the European Union, including the EU Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
