MILWAUKEEReinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) Shareholder Robert J. Misey, Jr. has been appointed by Gov. Tony Evers as a public member of the Wisconsin Accounting Examining Board (Board). The Board consists of five members who hold certificates as certified public accountants, and two public members. The Board oversees the accounting profession by both promulgating rules that regulate certified public accountants and conducting disciplinary proceedings. It was created under Wis. Stat. § 15.405(1) and has authority as outlined in Wis. Stat. ch. 442.

Misey is a shareholder in Reinhart’s Tax and Corporate Law practices, as well as chair of the firm’s International Law Practice. He serves with a wide range of clients involved in an array of industries such as manufacturing, distribution, sport, and entertainment with international taxation and tax controversy matters. Licensed in California, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Washington, D.C., Misey is also a member of the International Fiscal Association and Chair of the Tax Committee of International Section of the American Bar Association.

Misey regularly shares his expertise and experience on international taxation with business with national and international professional audiences. He also teaches international taxation at the University of Wisconsin and University of Alabama law schools.

Prior to establishing a successful nation-wide practice with Reinhart, Misey was an attorney for the IRS where he served as an international tax attorney and trial attorney.
