- Peterson Named Reinhart Pro Bono Attorney of the Year
MILWAUKEE – Jerome M. Janzer, CEO of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart), announced that David G. Peterson was named Reinhart 2012 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. Peterson was honored during a luncheon at Reinhart's Milwaukee office, where the firm also announced the creation of a program to match individual Reinhart attorney donations to benefit the Wisconsin Equal Justice Fund, a critical source of funding for three significant pro bono services providers for Wisconsin's poor.
Peterson, a shareholder in Reinhart's Litigation practice, is based in the firm's Waukesha office. Reinhart recognized Peterson for his work with the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin, and the Potawatomi Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.
"I am honored to receive this award because I am just one of many Reinhart lawyers who devote significant time and resources to assist people with pro bono legal needs," noted Peterson. "The pro bono work I have been doing is very rewarding and I have gotten back much more than I have put into it. I look forward to continuing work on pro bono matters for many years to come."
In 2009, Reinhart initiated its Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award program. The award is presented annually to recognize the exceptional efforts of attorneys within the firm who demonstrate a long-standing and devoted commitment to pro bono work.
"Giving back to the communities where we live and work is very important to Reinhart," says Janzer. "Dave's pro bono work with organizations like the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust allows them to put their financial resources toward program activities, rather than paying for legal services they otherwise could not afford without substantial cutbacks. Our pro bono work strengthens organizations which benefit countless people in the community."
