MILWAUKEE Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) is pleased to announce that Shareholder Deborah C. Tomczyk has been inducted into the 2021 Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame by Midwest Real Estate News.

“We are extremely proud of Debby for this well-deserved honor,” said Reinhart CEO Albert S. Orr. “Her proven ability to help clients overcome obstacles and fully realize opportunities has played a critical role in the pace of development in our region.”

Each year, Midwest Real Estate News inducts a select group commercial real estate leaders that have helped shape the landscapes of their cities, and that have made a true difference in their industry and communities. These inspirational leaders and successful business professionals include the most important players–from all facets of business–in the commercial real estate industry.

Throughout her career, Tomczyk has played a key part in numerous high-profile and locally significant projects, including representing a government body in developing the largest tax incremental financing district in Wisconsin’s history; representing big box retailers in obtaining entitlements for hundreds of new and expanded stores; representing the owner redeveloping Wisconsin’s largest regional shopping mall; representing the developer of a severely contaminated brownfield site in partnership with the local municipality; representing owners and developers of dozens of corporate headquarters; representing the owner of a community-building mixed use town center, including living, working and entertainment components as well as a public market; and representing the developers of more than a dozen business and industrial parks.

Tomczyk has also been active in numerous civic, community and non-profit organizations, including Board Member of the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre; Board Member of the Wisconsin Policy Forum; Pastoral Council, Steering Committee and Finance Council Chair of St. Leonard Parish; former Chair of the Wisconsin State Bar Association Real Property and Probate Section; former National Delegate of the National Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network; former President of the Wisconsin Chapter of CREW; former Board Member and Chair of the Public Affairs Committee for NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, Wisconsin Chapter; former Board President of St. Catherine Residence; and former Board Member of the Milwaukee Chamber Theater.

Tomczyk is co-chair of Reinhart's Real Estate Practice, chair of the firm’s Entitlement Group and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. She represents local, regional and national developers, as well as municipalities, businesses, individuals and taxing jurisdictions. Tomczyk counsels clients in all aspects of real estate development; structuring deals, obtaining financing and permits, and overseeing projects to their successful completion. She has extensive experience in government relations, zoning, land use, eminent domain, licensing, tax incremental financing and business improvement districts. Tomczyk is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School (Order of the Coif) and Smith College (Phi Beta Kappa).
