- Ben Kurten Receives Silver Beaver Award from Bay-Lakes Council
MILWAUKEE – Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) is pleased to announce that the Bay-Lakes Council of Scouting America has awarded Shareholder Ben Kurten with the Silver Beaver Award. The award, introduced in 1931, is the highest recognition a local Scouting Council can bestow upon a volunteer leader. It recognizes adult leaders of exceptional character who, through many years of outstanding, dedicated, and unselfish service, have made a lasting impact on the lives of youth. Kurten currently serves on the Council Executive Board for Bay-Lakes Council. He is also the District Chair for the Kettle Country District of Bay-Lakes Council, an Assistant District Commissioner for the same district and the Advisor for Venturing Crew 9830.
The Bay-Lakes Council is recognized as one of the largest Scout Councils in the Midwest, offering programs and services to more than 8,000 youth from Eastern Wisconsin to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Reinhart actively supports Scouting in America and has numerous shareholders and employees who serve as active adult leaders within various Scouting America Councils, Districts, and Units.
Kurten is the chair of Reinhart’s Immigration Law Group and a shareholder in the firm’s Labor and Employment and International practices. He advises large multinational corporations, small private companies and individual investors on transferring international personnel, hiring foreign-born talent with hard-to-find skill sets and establishing new investment enterprises or branch operations.
