Diversity
Reinhart
Boerner Van Deuren s.c. recognizes the importance of building a truly diverse
legal profession. The firm believes that excellence in client service is
achieved by a diverse workforce that provides different perspectives for
finding better and innovative solutions for clients. An inclusive workforce is
most effective for building and maintaining the community relationships
necessary to best serve our clients. Finally, Reinhart believes that valuing
diversity breeds a firm culture respected by the community, bar associations
and the public sector.
The firm's
Diversity Committee is dedicated to providing programs, benefits and recruiting
efforts for building a more diverse workforce. Our Diversity Committee is made
up of partners, associates and staff who are active in attending professional
and community events and in maintaining contacts in diverse bar associations
and other relevant organizations. They serve as mentors and resources for
incoming attorneys of diverse backgrounds.
Reinhart is
active in advancing the development of minority professionals, and it dedicates
significant resources to the success of minority business communities of all
professions in Wisconsin. Reinhart's Legal Opportunity Youth Internship Program
provides high school and college students an opportunity to participate in a
real life experience to learn what lawyers do. The goal of this program is to provide minority and socially and
economically disadvantaged students interested in the practice of law to
experience the opportunities available in the legal profession and to have
access to mentors who can assist them in pursuing a career in the legal
profession.
Members of
the firm are frequent participants in state and local events that provide
assistance to minorities, women and veteran owned businesses and offer
presentations and counsel clients on implementing supplier diversity programs,
including identifying ways for non-minority-owned companies to form
relationships with minorities and/or women to capture business opportunities.
Our attorneys work extensively with various groups and serve in board
capacities to such groups as the Wisconsin Business Resource Center, a
nonprofit organization dedicated to creating, expanding and preserving
businesses owned by minorities, women and those who meet the federal definition
of disadvantaged. We have proudly
sponsored the Wisconsin State Bar Committee to Encourage Placement of Minority
Lawyers Minority Summer Clerkship Program and programs for the Wisconsin
Association of African American Lawyers and Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers
Association.
Reinhart has
made significant strides in advancing the success of women in business. Since
2002 the firm has sponsored an annual leadership conference for women business
leaders as a means of offering quality programs to women business owners and
executives on issues vital to these individuals today. Year-round we offer
seminars specific to women in business on such topics as accessing capital,
financial planning, securing board of director positions and philanthropy.
Finally,
Reinhart is a long-standing and committed equal opportunity employer. The firm
does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, creed, religion, color,
disability, marital status, sex, national origin, ancestry, arrest or
conviction record, developmental disability, or sexual orientation with respect
