  3. Reinhart's Gordon Wright Named One of Five "Leading Black Men" in Rockford Area

ROCKFORD – Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren P.C. (Reinhart) patent attorney Gordon M. Wright was named one of five "Leading Black Men" as part of the "Who's Who in Rockford  25 Black Leaders to Watch" campaign. The award celebration took place on June 1 at the Booker Washington Center in Rockford. Wright was cited for his service in the U.S. Navy, passion for encouraging young people, mentoring of up-and-coming lawyers and volunteer position on the Discovery Center Museum's Board of Directors. In the "Leading Black Men" category, Wright was one of 27 nominees.

An attorney in Reinhart's Intellectual Property (IP) Practice, Wright serves a range of clients on patent and trademark issues. He has experience counseling clients in trademark matters, and has assisted national and international clients with the clearance, registration, and maintenance of domestic and international trademarks.

"Gordon is one of our top IP associates and highly deserving of this honor," states Jeffery J. Makeever, IP Practice Chair and Managing Shareholder of the firm's Rockford office. "Gordon is a consistent leader and demonstrates an outstanding ability to instill faith in his clients and the firm. Reinhart congratulates Gordon for this award and his ongoing service to others."

In 2011, Wright participated in the 17th Judicial Circuit Mentorship Pilot Program, where he was a mentee. During his participation, Wright helped to develop the procedures of this new mentorship program, which will be implemented statewide in Illinois. Using what he learned as a mentee, Wright is now mentoring a new Reinhart associate within the Rockford office. In addition, Wright recently became a member of the firm's Diversity Committee.

Wright graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He also served in the U.S. Navy for several years, during which time he earned an M.B.A. at Colorado State University. Wright earned his J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School.
