Jennifer R. D'Amato is a member of the firm's Board of Directors, a shareholder in the firm's Trusts and Estates Practice and a member of the firm's Tax-Exempt Organizations team. Jennifer's clients include closely held business owners, wealthy families, trusts, estates, private foundations and public charities. Her practice focuses on estate and business succession planning; estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax issues; sophisticated gift techniques; family limited partnerships and limited liability companies; charitable planning; prenuptial and postnuptial agreements; estate and trust administration; executive compensation and will, trust and tax controversy matters.
Jennifer frequently lectures on a variety of estate planning issues including various types of sophisticated gift techniques, business succession and charitable planning. Jennifer has also lectured as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Business, in the Masters in Taxation Program.

Helping families to structure business and personal assets in order to achieve personal and financial goals while minimizing tax liability. In a recent matter, Jennifer is working with the family to recapitalize S corporation stock in a family business with a net worth of approximately $40 million. This, and other planning, will ensure control in the appropriate family members while allowing equitable distribution of family wealth

Working with public and private charities to help them best fulfill their charitable objectives, including preparation of fiduciary accountings and tax returns and assistance with other gift administration services

Implementing family partnerships and a dynasty trust to control the distribution of a family's wealth for many future generations in a manner consistent with the senior generation's intent

Developing and implementing a gifting program to transfer nonvoting S corporation stock worth approximately $20 million via grantor retained annuity trusts and installment sales to "defective" trusts in order to control estate tax exposure upon the death of the senior generation
