Representative Matters and Experience

  • Helping families to structure business and personal assets in order to achieve personal and financial goals while minimizing tax liability. In a recent matter, Jennifer is working with the family to recapitalize S corporation stock in a family business with a net worth of approximately $40 million. This, and other planning, will ensure control in the appropriate family members while allowing equitable distribution of family wealth
  • Working with public and private charities to help them best fulfill their charitable objectives, including preparation of fiduciary accountings and tax returns and assistance with other gift administration services
  • Implementing family partnerships and a dynasty trust to control the distribution of a family's wealth for many future generations in a manner consistent with the senior generation's intent
  • Developing and implementing a gifting program to transfer nonvoting S corporation stock worth approximately $20 million via grantor retained annuity trusts and installment sales to "defective" trusts in order to control estate tax exposure upon the death of the senior generation
