Frederic G. Friedman is a shareholder in the firm's Trusts and Estates Practice, which he chaired for 15 years. Rick advises individuals, closely held business owners and organizations on estate and succession planning issues and on the tax consequences of estate planning techniques. Considered a close confidant and trusted advisor by his clients, Rick works directly with closely held business owners, guiding them on the most effective ways to transfer value and control of their businesses to successive generations. An excellent listener, Rick also works with executives and professionals in creating estate plans to maximize their personal objectives and to minimize tax consequences. 

Rick frequently speaks to professional and business audiences on estate planning and philanthropy. He is a founder of Leave A Legacy Wisconsin, an organization designed to educate professionals on how to create an environment to discuss philanthropy with clients.
