REINHART HELPS YOUTHS LEARN ABOUT THE LAW AND PURSUE EXCELLENCE

MILWAUKEE – As part of the firm's commitment to diversity and community development issues, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. will host a program for 10 members of the Lakeside Scholars Boys II 14U AAU basketball team on Friday, July 31. The program will introduce them to the legal environment and also include a tour of the firm's headquarters in Milwaukee.

Mark A. Cameli, a member of the firm's Board of Directors and chair of Reinhart's Diversity Committee, states, "The Lakeside Scholars' strongly emphasize character development on and off the court. Reinhart is proud to partner with the organization and introduce the young men to our lawyers and staff."

The Lakeside Scholars are coached by the team's founder, Dineo Black. In addition to meeting with Cameli, the players will be introduced to and hear from Michael J. Redding, an associate in the firm's Business Law Practice, Antonio M. Trillo, an associate in Litigation, and Mario Sinclair, recipient of the Reinhart Scholarship. Sinclair is also Reinhart's 2009 participant in the firm's Legal Opportunity Youth Internship program.

Now in it's fourth year, Reinhart's Legal Opportunity Youth Internship program is a 4-6 week program in which a promising minority high school student is exposed to the various practices of law and opportunities available in the private law firm setting. The firm's first intern in 2006 was Chloe Black, daughter of Dineo Black. She is now attending Northern Michigan University and studying in their medical program.

Cameli notes, "Sports and internship programs are often the first experience youths have as being part of an organized group effort. Working within a team, in a sports or business environment, helps young men and women develop the social, networking and relationship building skills necessary for success in educational and occupational journeys. We're proud to play an important part in that process for this team and numerous other individuals."
